More details

Texas Downtown (TXD) was founded in 1985 to connect and serve downtown professionals and champions. At the time, downtowns across the state were suffering from a lack of investment, and there was no organization open to all downtowns that was dedicated to turning the tide.

Downtown revitalization is a team sport, and downtown vibrancy is the end goal. Texas Downtown (TXD) encompasses a diverse group of partners and members ranging from economic development corporations to small business owners in order to achieve our vision. From Small Town, Texas members to Big City partners, we want you on our downtown Texas team.

Our vision is to be the leading catalyst for downtown transformation in Texas, by uniting professionals to create vibrant communities that celebrate and preserve local heritage, foster inclusive and resilient districts, contribute to a thriving economy, and inspire a deep multi-generational connection to place.

Mission

Texas Downtown empowers downtown leaders with the resources, advocacy, education, and connections they need to drive transformation and revitalization. We support the development of vibrant, thriving districts that celebrate local character, strengthen communities, and foster a strong sense of place.
