    Mission

    Teatro’s mission is to promote a better understanding of the Mexican American culture through the arts. Teatro and its constituents view arts and culture as having to do with values i.e. with the way individuals see, understand and act upon the world. Teatro preserves (but is not limited to) the culture and art in the areas of family and history; language; crafts; celebrations; foods/ culinary; oral tradition; music; visual arts; dramatic arts; film & video arts; danza folklórica (folklórico dances); and others. All of these are aimed toward “remembering” (reacquisition) lost cultural practices and toward incorporating those practices into everyday life. These cultural features and attractions address Teatro’s mission and make Seguin a unique area.
